This motor replacement kit for a Maytag Neptune front-load washer model number MAH4000AWW is often called a conversion kit. The kit includes the motor that provides power to turn the basket and operate the agitator as well as the motor control board.

Unplug the washer before beginning to make the repair. To start taking out the old motor and motor control board remove the front and rear panels from the washer cabinet the front counterweight and the mounting bolt for the belt adjustment wheel. Write down the adjustment number on the wheel where it is aligned with the rib of the wash tub. You need this information to reinstall the components correctly.

Take the belt off the motor pulley and disconnect the wire harness from the back of the motor. Remove the motor by carefully sliding it out of the pivot hang holes on the tub. The motor control board is installed under a cover at the front of the washer. Take off the cover disconnect the wire harness connections and take out the 2 screws that secure the board to its base.
